What is The LEAD Rope?

Danny and I grew up around horses and were blessed to have been mentored by some great leaders and trainers. We both have spent a lifetime in the industry at one capacity or another; from training to competing, rodeo pickup man, college instructors and coaches, and lifelong students of the horse.

We saw a need for basic horsemanship and safety knowledge in our industry. And we asked ourselves: how did we learn these things? Our answer was many places, including guidelines that we can’t tell you who said it, but it has been ingrained in us as long as we can remember. We soaked up knowledge from great leaders, mentors, trainers, and competitors.

In today’s era of social media and podcasting, we thought it would be a great way to share the knowledge and experience of seasoned horsemen and maybe keep people from making mistakes we had to learn the hard way.

We have partnered with other experienced horsemen from across disciplines to put together a comprehensive video podcast of foundational horsemanship videos as well as short tips and safety messages.

Our goal is to cover a wide array of subjects essential to being a good horseman. We want to see good horsemanship, respect for these great animals, and safe habits in the next generation of horsemen and women.
